The survey on the vibrant properties of urban form and the changes of reorganizing the form, are the favorite issues concerning the researchers. Among the changes, we can demonstrate the relationship between changes of spatial configuration properties and its impact on the other layers of urban form.

This thesis tries to use a blended approach of socio-spatial in order to both express conceptual models of surveying spatial configuration, and analyze the changes in indicators of spatial configuration in socio-economic differentiation in the studies area. the analysis on the socio-spatial literature of urban form suggests that two major points of view about it in the past which are the manifest of spatial morphological properties and vibrant processes of socio-economic form, have been used in a separated way. In recent years the blended studies and multi-layer urban form properties have widely spread.

As the research analyzed, studied and determined the advantages and disadvantages of all contemporary spatial configuration analysis methods, it has established the method of Space Syntax in analyzing physical and geometrical spatial configurations. Moreover, factor analysis is used in order to obtain the mixed index of social-economic of the residents in addition to bivariate correlation and regression analysis to determine the relations.

The results of the thesis show a meaningful correlation relationship among the index of spatial integration dissimilarity (SID) and index of residential socio-economic differentiation (SED) in Qom (1996-2006). The most amount of correlation is in the regions 2 and 4 and the least amount is in the region 1. The analysis on the probability of predicting the changes of SED index by the changes of SID survey shows that although SED are affected by SID of urban form by 35 percent, it has not been strong enough to find it beforehand which needs the attention of urban planners.
