  A New Method of Data Encryption Using Turbo Codes

 

  Abstract

 

  A novel data encryption method based on turbo-coding is presented in this thesis. The new system is identical to a normal turbo code in error correction capability but with addition of a

  very tiny complexity to it, data security can be achieved at a desirable level. This method stands in the symmetric encryption systems and from channel coding point of view it is a convolutional-turbo code.

  The suggested system was simulated using MATLAB and evaluated with several variations in parameters. The resulting curves approve the predictions about coding and encryption capabilities.

  With the addition of a very low processing load, the information in the code sequence disappears, whereas with the key in hand, one can extract the information easily and enjoy coding facility. It is shown that the key length and it's space can be easily extended to achieve higher levels of secrecy and not much resources are required for doing that.
