Influence of Nepheline syenite on Rheological

  Properties of Porcelain Stoneware Slip

  Abstract

  

  The aim of the work is to study the effect of nepheline syenite on rheological properties of porcelain stoneware slips . The porcelain stoneware slips containing different amounts of nepheline syenite are prepared and flow curve ,yield stress and thixotropy are studied by a rotational rheometer. It is found that substituting 10% of potassium feldspar by nepheline , the viscosity , yield stress and thixotropy of slips decrease.
