ی On 16th of Dec 2014 as the national day of "technological research and scientific diplomacy" a conference was held with the attendance of selected universities’ international Directors and Deputy Minister for International Affairs and Head of International Scientific Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, as well as Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Iranians Abroad Affairs in the conference hall of the Council.

On November 14th ,2014 EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS has elected Dr.Ali Kaveh from Iran University of Science and Technology Department of Civil Engineering to become an Active Member of Class VI – Technical Sciences.

4th International Conference on “Acoustics and Vibration (ISAV2014)” will be held in School of Mechanical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology on Dec. 10, 2014 for two days.

According to the National Taiwan University ranking, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) upgraded 19 places and ranked as 193rd among the world's top 500 universities in the field of Engineering.

On Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19, 2014 2nd International Conference on “Urbanism & Spatial Mobility” was held in IUST. The conference was Organized by Engineering Analysis of Spatial Arrangement Factors (EASAF) Research Laboratory , School of Architecture, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Ingénierie du Projet d’Aménagement - Paysage et Environnement (IPAPE), Ecole Polytechnique d’Aménagement, Univ. François-Rabelais de Tours, France.

On Monday, September 15, 2014 a high ranked delegation from Germany visited Iran University of Science and Technology. The delegation was composed of president of University of Applied Science Rhein-Waal, rector of RWTH (University of Achen), Rector of University of Rostock, President of Technical University of Darmstadt, President of Justus-Liebig- University of Gießen, First Director of Orient Institute Istanbul, and faculty members of these universities and also Delegation from German Academic Exchange Service composed of President, Vice-president, Head of Section Office of the Executive Committee and Senior Management, Head of Section Iran, Director of DAAD Information Center, Tehran.

A Delegation headed by Prof Suleyman Tanyolac dean of the School of Engineering and Professor Ilhan Kocaarslan, Director of the Automation Railway Energy (ARE) Research Center of Istanbul University visited the School of Railway Engineering on June 8, 2014.

A delegation of authorities including Head of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Railway visited the School of Railway Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology on Monday June 23, 2014. The visit held in the conference hall of the School with the presence of the Dean and faculty members.

  With the coordination made by the Office of International and Scientific Cooperation a delegation from University of Malaya, Malaysia, including Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef, acting deputy dean (higher degree) of faculty of engineering, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Moghavvemi, professor of department of electrical engineering, and Mrs. Shahzatul Ermiza Johol, assistant registrar of University of Malaya visited Iran University of Science and Technology on Aug. 26, 2013 to discuss mutual interests.

 Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) has ranked Iran University of Science and Technology as the country's third industrial university.

 Iran University of Science and Technology officials met with Dr. Ali Mohammad Mousavi, head of Developing 8 (D-8) and Dr. E. Afshari, head of Multilateral Economic Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday July 7, 2013. The purpose of this visit was to discuss increasing scientific, research and technology cooperation among universities of the eight Islamic countries.

 The Neural Engineering Research Center has been established at Iran University of Science and Technology. This news came after the center received approval from the office of Higher Education Council. This center will begin its activities in the following three groups:

Iran University of Science and Technology has succeeded in establishing the School of New Sciences and Technologies. The news came after the Higher Education Council validated the school. This school will be accepting students for the Fall 2013 semester, and will be offering two concentrations in Nuclear Physics and Energy Systems Engineering (energy and the environment).

 The gas turbines research facility opened on Tuesday May 28, 2013 in Iran University of Science and Technology. The MOU for establishing the gas turbines research facility was signed during the First National Conference on Gas Turbines, held last year May 2012.

Wednesday May 15, 2013 in Geneva, Swiss, Iran University of Science and Technology held a thematic workshop on the role of the IT industry in gross domestic production, with a focus on central challenges and future horizons in the current global financial crisis.

An MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between UNESCO's University-Industry seat and the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company was signed Sunday May 19, 2013 in IUST's Automotive Research Center.

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Islamic Republic of Iran's Railway Company, Isfahan's Steel Company, and Iran University of Science and Technology during the third International Conference on Recent Advances in Railway Engineering. Among those present include deputies of the Roads and Urban Development and the Mine and Trade Industry. .

 Opening ceremony of the Movement Festival was held on Monday and Tuesday May 12-13, 2013 with the presences of Dr. Jabal Ameli, IUST chancellor, Hojjatol Islam Ibrahimi Nezhad, chair to the Office of the Supreme Leader at IUST, and Dr. Khalaj, vice chancellor of Cultural Studies, in IUST's open amphitheatre.

 On April 30th and May 1st 2013 Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) hosted the third international conference aimed at recent advances in Railway Engineering (ICRARE).

Iran University of Science and Technology showed its active presence in the exhibition by presenting 9 completed research projects conducted in 2012, and by the participation of IUST faculty in specialized conferences..

The eighth Iran Open 2013 International RoboCup competitions were held April 5-7 in Tehran's international convention center. 390 teams from 14 countries participated in the competitions. Two teams from IUST's School of Computer Engineering won first and second place in two Small Size Robot Soccer Leagues, and in the 2D Soccer Simulation League .

March 10, 2013—Sunday a group of IUST students and staff held demonstrations against the recent killings of Shiite Muslims in Pakistan.  Representative of Iran's Supreme Leadership office at IUST, Hojjatol-Islam Ibrahimi Nejad condemned the acts of the violent militant group in Pakistan, "whom", he argued, "hold the belief that anyone who disagrees with their beliefs is a non-believer."

2 March 2012 – A delegation from the National University of Singapore, including Tan Tiow Seng, PhD. Associate Professor Assistant Dean met with Iran University of Science and Technology's Dr. Farzam Farbiz, faculty from the School of Engineering on Monday February 25, 2013 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding connecting the two universities in an international agreement.
