The thesis of Mr. Engineer Reza Tekrali, a graduate of the Power Electronics and Electric Machines field at Iran University of Science and Technology, titled “Design and Simulation of High Voltage Gain DC-DC Converter for Water Purification Applications”, succeeded in winning the title of “Best Thesis of the Year” from the Power Electronics Association of Iran in 1402. The General Assembly meeting of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering was held on Monday, 3rd of Dey, in the Ebn-e-Sina Hall. In this session, a report on the activities of the faculty was presented, and young faculty members were welcomed. Furthermore, esteemed professors expressed their opinions and viewpoints.

 Electrical Engineeringschool of Electrical Engineering was established 1928. It benefits from 57 well-experienced faculty members and is equipped with a complex of laboratories and workshops. The school offers study programs leading towards, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with the current student population of over 560 B.SC, 510 M.Sc and 180 Ph.D. students.In 2006, the school was recognized by Irans Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as a Center of Excellence in Automation and Power Systems Applications. On an invitation from dean of department, a group of four LG members including Dr. Covan.Co (the head manager of LSIS, the automation section of the LG company) visited the department of Electrical Engineering. The event happend on wednesday, 4 April 2009. The korean team also had a meeting with department deans where they discussed the scientific capabilities of each side. The LSIS members also showed willingness in expanding future cooperations and collaborations with the department of Electrical Engineering and signed an agreement. The visited the researsh laboratories of EE department, the Electronic Researsh Center and one of the laboratatories of Railway Engineering Faculty.

The faculty of Electrical Engineering donated more than 600 books of it,s faculties to Afghanistan universities .
