The School of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Kufa held a scientific lecture titled “Features of the ALA Graph” on Tuesday, 29 September 2025. This lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Mehdi Alaeeian, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), and took place in the Salim Al-Kutbi Hall at the University of Kufa from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Faculty members, researchers, and students attending the session benefited from the latest scientific findings and discussions presented.  

The President of the University of Kufa, Prof. Alaa Naji Al-Moula, along with his Administrative Vice President, Prof. Ghani Khaqani, welcomed Dr. Mehdi Alaeiyan, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) and External Examiner of the Department of Mathematics, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, University of Kufa. This meeting was also attended by Prof. Salam Hassan Muhisen, Dean of the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at the University of Kufa, together with a delegation from Iran University of Science and Technology. During the session, strategies for expanding scientific cooperation between the two universities were discussed, including faculty and student exchange programs, as well as benefiting from the experiences of Iranian universities in the development of technology parks, in support of scientific education and research. In addition, the External Examiner Program was presented, aimed at enhancing the quality of education. This program involves a thorough review of curricula and educational processes to ensure that the declared learning objectives are properly achieved and effectively implemented. The ceremony was attended by faculty members, senior colleagues, students, staff, and the esteemed family of the late professor. The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by faculty members and students sharing memories and highlighting the personal and academic qualities of the late professor. In the first part, Dr. Alaeean (Dean of the School) while appreciating the presence of the guests, commemorated Dr. Tulaei and also remembered other late faculty members, including Dr. Esrafilian, Dr. Shidfar, Dr. Jazbi, Dr. Hasani, and Dr. Mokhtarzadeh. He described Dr. Tulaei as a committed, honest, capable, lively, and meticulous professor, who excelled particularly in teaching Algebra and served as a model of ethical behavior and fairness in grading for university professors. Then, Dr. Khosro Malek-Nejad, a senior faculty member, remembered Dr. Tulaei as a knowledgeable, organized, and approachable professor, whose achievements included training successful students and distinguished university professors. Next, Dr. Najafi-Khah, a faculty member of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, described him as a family-oriented, ethical, knowledgeable, and organized individual. Dr. Ghalandarzadeh (faculty member at Khajeh Nasir Toosi University) highlighted Dr. Tulaei’s patience and good character, emphasizing his role in the academic and ethical development of students. Dr. Zolfaghari (faculty member at Semnan University) also emphasized the late professor’s mastery of Iranian and English languages and, recalling academic and ethical memories, introduced him as an exemplary and kind-minded scholar. Additionally, Dr. Dehghannajad (Educational Vice Dean of the School), while welcoming the attendees and mentioning that he himself was a student of Dr. Tulaei, shared some fond memories and praised his virtuous character, highlighting the importance of honoring the school’s senior faculty members. Furthermore, Dr. Farnoush, recalling memories of the late Dr. Tulaei, referred to his proficiency in English, kindness, good ethics, and interest in the arts. At the conclusion, Dr. Shahrezai stated that the professors and senior members of the school shine like stars in the sky of science and their absence will be felt for many years, emphasizing the necessity of recording the oral history of the school for future generations. He concluded his speech with the following verse: "The purpose is a role that remained from us, for I do not see loyalty in existence." The in-person interview for PhD applicants in fields related to the School of Mathematics and Computer Science was held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, starting at 8:30 AM at the school premises. The session was conducted with the participation of the respected school members and PhD candidates. According to previous announcements, applicants in the field of Applied Mathematics were evaluated collectively, regardless of specific research orientations. Candidates presented the required documents, including their thesis, research background, and national ID card. The Interfaculty Handball Tournament at Iran University of Science and Technology was held with the participation of three teams from the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, the School of Mechanical Engineering, and the School of Materials Engineering. The final match took place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Malekloo Sports Hall.
