IUST hosted the intergovernmental council of road builders
During the first week of May 2023, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) hosted the delegates of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders of CIS countries within the framework of the Sixth International Silk Road Meeting. The meeting was well attended by the members of the Council from Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, officials from Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from the Iran Chamber of Commerce, IUST officials and faculty members.
During this successful four-hour meeting, the importance of economical, cultural and technical cooperation between Silk Road countries was emphasized by all participants. In addition, opportunities for all parties to stimulate new collaborations in the scientific and technical fields were discussed. Iran University of Science and Technology, which consist of a number of schools and research centers specializing in transportation, offered to be the focal point for the research activities related to the transportation and logistics in Central Asia.
