News & Events- News - (7/11/2010)-After almost 8 years of research activities on activation of supplementary cementing materials, recently LCG cement based on different slags has been industrially produced and tested. The study has confirmed the effectiveness of the activation and obtained interesting results on compressive strengths (see the following table).
Results obtained from different activated slags (Concrete prisms cured in water at room temperature) | Compressive Strength (MPa) | Material | 28-day | 60-day | Phosphorous slag | 45.4 | 53.6 | Blast furnace slag | 43.5 | 47.3 |
- (27/10/2010)-The flagship research project entitled "Enhancement of Cement Cast Stone Properties through Utilization of Micro Silica Particles in Autoclaving System" as a joint venture project between Sazansang Salar Company, University of industries and mines, and the center has obtained the first position in ranking of the R&D activities by ministry of industries and mines in 2009. After obtaining interesting results on enhancement of flexural strength (60%) and reduction of water absorption (almost 70%) the Sazansang Salar Company has invested a sum of almost US$ 600,000 for an industrial autoclave. The quality of the new product has been approved by Japanese and Australian laboratories and until now several shipments have been exported to Japan and Australia.
