Condolences
The unfortunate news comes from the severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria in which thousands of People died, injured, or forced to displace. Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) sympathizes with the Syrian students affected by this tragedy and stands with them in this difficult moments.

Online session held with Sapienza University
An Online session held with the presence of the Cultural Counselor of Iran in Italy at IUST on July 19, 2022.
In this session, with the presence of IUST vice chancellor for international affairs as well as IUST director for international education affairs, Mr. Amini, the Cultural Counselor of Iran in Italy delivered speeches on the cultural relations between the two countries.

IUST won the first rank in ImageCLEF medical competition
UST students team IUST_NLPLAB supervised by Dr. Etemadi, won the first rank in the competition of ImageCLEF medical, Medical Image Caption Prediction gaining point 48, and by 16 points difference from the second group.

MOU Singed between IUST and IPS- Germany
Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the German company of inveni portum solutions (IPS) on September 8th, 2021. Utilizing the capacities of Silk Road Logistics Research Center (SLRC) in Chabahar will be amongst the top agreed agendas of the MoU.

IUST ranking improved in four significant ranking systems
According to the reports from ranking systems of QS, Leiden, Times Higher Education (world ranking), and Times Higher Education (Asia ranking), the rank of Iran university of Science and Technology upgraded 100 steps while the number of universities were increased by 10 to 30 percent.

IUST 11 grade improvement of position in Asian Times Higher Education Ranking
Times Higher Education ranking for Asian universities released on June 2, 2021 and IUST’s position improved 11 grade and stayed at 76 rank in Asia. THE Asian University Ranking ranks the universities according to 5 indexes of teaching, research, citation, international outlook, and industry income.

According to the result of Times Higher Education Ranking 2021, announced in Sept. 2, 2020, Iran University of Science and Technology ranked 501-600 among world universities and ranked 4th among Iranian universities. IUST was 646 in the past year ranking.

Along with the 4th Rectors’ Forum for Top Iranian and Russian Universities held in Kish Island on 24th November, 2018, an appendix to the MoU signed on 2016 between the two parties, was signed on the development of cooperation between Gas Turbine Institute, and Power System Automation and Operation from IUST and Institute of Energy and Transport Systems from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
