Vice-Chancellor for Research (VCR) message
 

Certainly research in different fields including Mathematics and Computer Sciences (MCS) has had great contributions to sustainable development of each country. Irrespective of MCS role in basic sciences, during past decades MCS drastically has benefited to boosting and development of other disciplines including engineering, medicine and economics.  However, this feature could be in question, despite MCS and other branches are inter-connected in nature and even those are in MCS debt for its contribution.

The Vice-Chancellor for Research’s schemes of the School of Mathematics and Computers Sciences (SMCS) are as follows:

1.    Elucidating the MCS role in other disciplines and industry via holding conferences and science-industry talk.
2.    Interaction with other faculties, universities and research institutes. 
3.    Implementing industrial visits for MCS students and colleagues.  A main benefit of industrial visit is to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical learning in a real-life environment.
4.    Encourage post-graduate students and colleagues to produce articles in reputable Journals.

Further, the most important plan of Office is to get research funding from industry.  The implementation of this could be facilitated through 

1.    Employing talented scholars with applied and multiple disciplines.
2.    Enhancing post-graduate programs by adding applied and multidisciplinary courses.
3.    Interaction with IUST Scientific & Industrial cooperation Office.
4.    Encouraging colleagues in SMCS and other faculties for doing joint research projects.
5.    Establishing SMCS-industry interaction office.

Along with implementing aforementioned objectives, SMCS declares its readiness to cooperate with industries and welcomes talented scholars who posse knowledge in applied and multiple discipline.
