A new multilevel GTO thyristor inverter

Abstract

In this paper a new circuit is proposed as a multilevel inverter (MLI). The most important feature of this circuit is the reduction in the number of solid stat switches. A novel method is represented for simulating the MLI various working states by using state space equations. The application of this circuit in an active power filter is studied and its advantages are shown.
