Forth National Conference on Preparation for WSIS+10

The Forth National Conference on Preparation for WSIS+10 held in the Shahid Ghandi Hall, ICT Ministry, Iran on May 26, 2014, organized by ICT Ministry and Iran University of Science and Technology.

The conference addressed issues such as content, media and ethics in information society, applications of information technology, and connection infrastructures of information society.

At the opening session Dr. Shahhoseini, conference chair provided a report on the process of preparation for Iran’s presence in WSIS+10. Also he described the declaration including ten years review of the activities, and the prospective declaration beyond 2015.

Also Dr. Hamadoun I Toure the secretary-general of International Telecommunication ::::::::union:::::::: in his message to the conference congratulated and appreciated the initiative of the Information Technology Organization of Iran (ITO), and the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) the organizers of the conference.

 Experts and scholars from the, Ministry of ICT, Information Technology Organization of Iran (ITO), Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Telecommunication Company of Iran, Tarbiat Modares University, and Iran University of Science and Technology presented speeches in the four sessions.

At the end of the conference the ways for effective presence of Iran in the 2014 WSIS+10 to be held in Geneva from 9 to 13 June were discussed.
